SUMMARY
The National Hockey League is seeking an attorney specializing in corporate transactional matters and general corporate law.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will participate as a member of the League's internal legal team with a broad range of responsibilities, primarily focusing on corporate law matters, business transactions, financing matters, corporate governance and other contract matters. 

Responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating various corporate documents, including financing documents; providing legal and business advice to League management and Club personnel; assisting in managing outside counsel; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate will have at least 4 years legal experience at a major law firm in corporate transactional matters, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing and other complex business transactional matters.  In-house experience a plus.
 
 Ideal candidate will have superior drafting skills, excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills and the ability to effectively and independently manage multiple assignments, priorities and deadlines in a timely, efficient and effective manner, with attention to detail.  Must have excellent organizational and project management skills and a high level of commitment to quality work product.
 
The right candidate for the position will possess unquestioned ethics, integrity, discretion and compliance with law. Must have the ability to work nights and weekends when necessary and to travel for business purposes.  Must have the ability to reason through complex legal documents and arguments. Ability to distill relevant information and summarize in a clear coherent manner. Ability to develop and advocate League positions and respond to adversarial positions.
Law degree and New York bar admission.
