SUMMARY
Are you obsessively organized?  Can you remember old friends’ birthdays without Facebook or your calendar? The NHL is looking for someone who can coordinate complicated marketing plans across multiples platforms and media and ensure that each individual group stays on track.  The successful candidate will have multiple skillsets that can be put to use on an ad hoc basis, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to do what is necessary to get the job done.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will:
  • Serve as hub of all digital marketing campaigns, working with email marketing, paid media marketing, partnership marketing, traditional marketing and other departments as required.
  • Serve as point person on outreach to external and internal partners to secure all required assets for each campaign.
  • Oversee project/campaign-based project management documentation and tracking boards for Fan Engagement department.
  • Support development  of digital content strategy and copy for campaigns around Growth Marketing, including narratives around customer acquisition, retention and lifecycle journeys.
  • Work closely with social and database strategy teams to ensure consistent messaging across email, social media and paid digital efforts.
  • Consult with partners and internal business units on content creation to keep messaging consistent and optimized.
  • Assist with day to day execution and optimization of paid social campaigns, including campaign setup and budget/creative adjustment.
  • Manage timelines for content delivery and distribution.
  • Manage promotional and partner budgets on weekly basis.
  • Assist with email HTML design, email and paid media graphic design, and paid media ad setup as needed.
  • Develop documentation as needed digital creative best practices, to include industry trends, competitive analysis and testing results, for the league and clubs.
  • Coordinate Power Players Youth Advisory Board meetings and content, working directly with the Board members on all topics relating to the game and business of the NHL.
  • Stay current on industry trends and provide relevant insights to organization.
  • Ability to operate collaboratively across multiple business units and personalities, and who wants to work in an environment without day-to-day micromanagement; someone who is a self-starter.
  • Manage all official requests for support for all NHL internal departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • The ideal candidate for the role must have a college degree and at least 4-5 years of related experience, agency preferred.  
  • They should have experience in copywriting for direct marketing businesses and experience creating results-driven paid campaigns across digital, specifically email.  
  • Prior experience building testing plans and evangelizing testing and optimization within organization in addition to experience with loyalty and retention programs preferred.  
  • Must be able to take a self-driven, creative, and collaborative approach.  

Additional skills required by the role include:
  • Strong written and verbal communication (including editing) skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Comfort using project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Monday.com).
  • Working knowledge/comfort of one or more Adobe design tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.)
  • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, Twitter Ads, Display ads and other social ad platforms.
  • Comfort using Excel.
  • Excellent proof-reading and grammatical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams, in a time-sensitive, multi-tasking role. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently with discretion
