This position focuses on the production and creation of digital and linear content. This position will work closely with the VP of Digital Content Production. This person should be a data-driven producer with audience development experience who understands how videos work across different digital platforms. Your responsibilities revolve around meeting with department heads to identify their needs, understand their goals, oversee the production, develop concepts and strategies, and coordinate with different teams and departments to ensure the workflow's efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate is a digital expert who knows all the latest trends, is comfortable creating content for all linear and digital platforms, and is obsessed with analytics and SEO. Not only do they understand Desktop, Mobile, and YouTube, but they understand how to create content about the game of hockey, the NHL's players and teams, statistics, and history around the game while maintaining a brand voice.

Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the NHL and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, message boards, or consuming short and long-form content about the NHL.

  • A producer with digital and linear experience who can build, lead, and optimize live and on-demand video content for mobile, desktop, and broadcast
  • Must have extensive experience in Adobe After Effects or other Motion Graphic Engines
  • Leads, directs, shoots, produces, writes, and edits original content for the website, social, and YouTube, both on and off locations
  • Develops strategic, breakthrough creative that enhances the NHL brand and shows deepens engagement while building audience connections
  • Works with VP, Digital Content Production to oversee the production and formatted videos for the desktop, mobile, and social media channels, including YouTube.
  • A creative portfolio of proven work with a capacity to generate new revenue and put into practice new concepts

  • 13+ years in a deadline-driven, high-profile sports and entertainment environment leading digital-forward content and promotion
  • 8+ years of leadership with a proven track record for building, managing, and teaching teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and produce video over mobile, digital, and linear platforms.
  • Proven track record in improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines by using industry-standard SEO practices.
  • A creative portfolio of proven work with a capacity to generate new revenue and put into practice new concepts
  • Experience leading and delivering a broad range of creative projects including digital campaigns, social content, experiential activations, sales partnerships, etc.
  • Expertise in creating diverse video formats, from linear programming to digital storytelling.
  • Established experience working with graphics and production
  • Editing knowledge on Adobe Premiere Pro 
  • Ability to think outside the box, innovate, and lead the team through testing and learning
  • The job requires out-of-town travel and some weekend/night work
