Ticket Sales and Services: Ticket Sales
The Director of Group Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive group ticket sales strategy that will maximize revenue and ticket sales volume for the Chicago Blackhawks.  The position will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating members of the ticket sales staff.  This successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in the planning and execution of various group sales programs targeting multiple types of group sales prospects.   The Director of Group Sales will work directly with the Director of Sales and Service on budgeting sales expenses, developing staff compensation programs and evaluating sales metrics to forecast future decision making.  The Director of Group Sales must be creative, comfortable speaking in public, able to build meaningful business relationships and command a leadership position within the ticket sales and service department.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated group sales campaign strategy development.
  • Ability to establish metrics designed to identify group sales successes and deficiencies.
  • Experience in creating and guiding an annual group sales campaign cycle with clear benchmarks to determine campaign status.
  • Demonstrated success in efficient prospecting and gaining access to corporate group sales decision-makers.
  • Preparation and execution of sales presentations including development of collateral materials.
  • Direct, manage and provide supervisory review/feedback to members of the sales staff dedicated to group sales efforts.
  • Proactively identify challenges in sales campaigns in a timely manner in order to correct course for overall campaign success.
  • Manage fiscal elements of group sales activities including projected sales, monitor average ticket price and coordinate budgeted spending.
  • Responsible for the calculation of staff commission reports, sales revenue & daily activity tracking reports and other related reports.
  • Work with the Database Marketing Manager to develop and enhance group database.
  • Cultivate targeted outbound sales campaigns to aggressively sell group tickets.
  • Organize the staff during game days/special events.
  • Follow up with staff on monthly basis to communicate goals and priorities. Review sales results individually and take the necessary action when appropriate. 
  • Prepare and present weekly sales performance reports. 
  • Hold weekly sales meetings to communicate goals and direction of sales team.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of sales experience in sports environment.
  • 5+ years of sales management experience in the sports environment preferred.
  • Strong coaching skills a must.
  • Knowledge of Archtics Ticketing System, Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization.
