Accounting and Finance: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Purchasing
Job Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting, treasury, bookkeeping, and administrative functions for the Carolina Hurricanes, PNC Arena and related entities
  • Monitor multiple bank accounts for activity and ensure cash movements are in accordance with accounting records
  • Identify banking discrepancies and research issues
  • Prepare reports summarizing banking activity and assisting with cash forecasting for management
  • Supervise cash logistics for the organization including ordering and distributing cash for team needs
  • Setup and maintain customer accounts within accounting system
  • Prepare and transmit invoices for customers and apply related payments
  • Validate and record unbilled payments received
  • Post receipts from various payment collection systems
  • Plan workload to ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process
  • Prepare, maintain, and track financial information in Excel and accounting system
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the accounting/finance department
Experience:
Qualified candidates should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business or related field preferred
  • Related experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and/or cash logistics.  Financial experience in sports & entertainment industry preferred
  • Experience using accounting systems (especially Sage Intacct) is preferred
  • The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently with strong attention to detail
  • Very strong knowledge and skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Must pass a criminal background check
This is a non-exempt hourly position
This is not a remote position. Candidate must be able to report to the office on a daily basis.
