Job Summary
The Business Analyst will play an important role in supporting the revenue-generating objectives of the Arizona Coyotes.  Utilizing the consolidated data sources within the Coyotes’ data warehouse, this individual will support all reporting efforts across the business unit including: ticketing, marketing, merchandise, food and beverage, and social/digital. The ideal candidate for this role will have a robust technical background, to go along with a solid understanding of data visualization and statistical analysis. 
 
The position will work alongside the business intelligence and ticketing analytics teams to enhance current analytics and operational processes. Further, the position will focus on analytics regarding fan data, ticket pricing, customer behavior, predictive models, sales projections, and other data analysis projects as needed. The individual will assist in corporate partnership sales analytics and reporting of partnership assets throughout the season.  
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Coyotes’ ticket sales and service teams to optimize revenue across all products from season-ticket plans, partial plans, individual, and group buyers
  • Lead all research studies conducted within the organization including: fan satisfaction, corporate partnership activation, and market research
  • Support corporate partnership activation in measurement and valuation of all assets sold to corporate partners
  • Build models to aid in projections of various areas including ticket sales, ticket utilization by game and season ticket member retention
  • Assist in setting ticket prices both at the beginning of the year and dynamically throughout the season
  • Work with the ticketing department and other internal departments to understand and support their business objectives by using business intelligence and analytics; foster data-based decision making across the organization
  • Responsible for the research, development and ongoing management of database systems and reporting within Tableau, Salesforce, and Ticketmaster
  • Automate existing processes to empower business units to conduct analyses
  • Responsible for all social and digital tracking with marketing including Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics, and Ticketmaster Pixels
  • Oversee fan segmentation efforts across all data platforms in close conjunction with marketing, sales, and corporate partnerships
  • Support social and digital team within the marketing department to generate reports as needed 
  • Must possess solid organization skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
  • Excellent statistical and analytical skills and ability to work independently with data to provide relevant analysis
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills in technical areas
  • Ability to pull data from source systems and database then analyze the data to summarize analysis in a digestible format
  • Ability to manage long-term projects, as well as quick turnaround assignments
  • Proficient user of Tableau, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programming languages
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully work in a team and with stakeholders across an organization
  • An ambitious self-starter that works best under minimal supervision, highly motivated and driven
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.

  • Willingness for infrequent domestic travel and game day/night attendance at home games (41+) during the season
 
Education and Formal Training:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or other related field
 
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Full-time experience with a professional sports team is a plus
 
Material and Equipment Used:
