Job Summary

The Arizona Coyotes are looking for an analytics professional to join our dynamic data-driven department within the Coyotes organization. The analyst will support a group that is responsible for strategy across all facets of the business side of an NHL team; accordingly, this role encompasses responsibilities of both a data analytics and strategic nature.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working with large sets of data and the underlying technologies that empower its analysis. The ideal candidate will also have experience with concepts such as data visualization, dashboards, statistical analysis, and sports business.
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Support the creation of analytical frameworks, models, reporting structures, visualizations, and evidence-based tools and strategies to aid in empowering leadership’s ability to make decisions in a disciplined, intentional, and effective manner. 
  • Generate regular status updates from existing business KPI’s, and proposing additional metrics worth tracking
  • Maintain dashboards and other data visualizations that aid leadership in understanding high-level organization and project status in a real-time
  • Perform high-level and in-depth quantitative analyses, generating useful and actionable insights from large sets of data, proposing speculative implications and conclusions
  • Scrub, standardize, clean, and maintain the team’s datasets, assisting with ensuring data quality standards are maintained
  • Serve as a point-of-contact CRM expert, assisting as available to maintain and manage the organization’s salesforce instance
  • Assist with execution and project management for various ongoing projects, pursuits, and internal business initiatives
  • Aggregate, package, and distribute internal cross-department information flow between various engaged parties, and escalate issues appropriately to senior team members
  • Track outstanding items for follow-up and input-needed from the Director of Strategy and Analytics, and the Coyotes’ leadership team, and escalate instances during which a request is overdue
  • Assist with the preparations of relevant associated business-related artifacts, such as: slide decks, one-sheeters, analytical frameworks and models, data visualizations and dashboards, project ROI calculations, team status reports, product roadmaps, etc.
  • Support other ongoing business projects and priorities within and involving the Arizona Coyotes on an ad-hoc basis as needed
 
 
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
 Education and Formal Training: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience: 
  • 1-2+ years of sports, data analytics, finance, corporate strategy and/or, management consulting experience, with a preference for technical roles within those industries

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • Exposure to CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot), and Project Management tools (e.g. Jira, Trello)
  • Experience with at data analytics-related tools (e.g. SQL, R, Stata, Python, Excel Power Query), and visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI)
  • Experience or familiarity with Ticketmaster Archtics, KORE, Ticket Sales, Pricing Analytics, and Dynamic Pricing preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus
  • Ability to quickly distill complex concepts into interesting and digestible pieces
  • Familiarity with complex digital ecosystems and metrics 
  • Experience with quantitative analytics and ability to draw a story out of data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly resourceful and disciplined, with strong emotional intelligence and self-motivation
  • Comfort with and disciplined to manage highly sensitive confidential information
  • Willingness for infrequent domestic travel and occasional game day/night attendance at home games during the season
