Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) delivers leading sports, entertainment and other special event programming to fans and patrons in Canada and the United States. OEG owns the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers, the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings, and operates Rogers Place, the home of the Oilers and Oil Kings in Edmonton, AB.

Reports to the Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting. The Manager, Community Relations & Digital Media is responsible for all community appearance scheduling and executing as well as donation fulfillment and all special events and community programs. This position will have public relations responsibilities as well including assisting with digital media elements, video production, and broadcast elements.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Community appearance scheduling and executing all facets of the Condors Community Foundation
  • Responsible for all special events, community programs, including planning and executing
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the Kids Club, as well as generating Memberships
  • Expand community reach / grow Condors presence in the community
  • Responsible for the scheduling of all Mascot & Player appearances and compilation of master appearance schedule
  • Needs to fulfill mascot payroll using appearance spreadsheet
  • Seek out new community appearance opportunities including golf tournaments, festivals, fun runs, etc.
  • Responsible for the entire Donation life cycle (collecting, approving, tracking, contact Organization when fulfilled)
  • Oversee the fulfilment of the Non-Profit Awareness Program
  • Supervise the 50/50 Raffle, including registering, training, tracking, and growing
  • Assists with digital media elements including game night social media
  • Assists with organizational interviews including team and front office staff
  • Ability to edit highlights/clips for social media
  • Assists with game night broadcast elements including overlays
  • Broadcast, reporting, and on-camera possibilities available

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • Degree or Diploma is required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field is preferred
  • Experience in marketing, social media and event planning is considered an asset
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills relationship building skills
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Must have access to a vehicle and a motor vehicle license (or ability to obtain one prior to employment)
  • Successful applicant must provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination
