Spire Hockey is currently comprised of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL, the premier “AA” professional hockey organization in North America.  
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Spire and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits seek a Director of Corporate & Community Relations. The role will be responsible for fostering and maintaining positive relationships with corporate sponsors; grassroots marketing; positive brand image and prospecting new business; with the primary goal of building impactful relationships in the Greenville community. These relationships will include (but not limited to), corporate partners; schools; nonprofit organizations; business leaders and youth sports. 
   
The Director of Corporate & Community Relations will; be extremely personable, an effective multi-tasker, and have a passion for business development and community causes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter that takes initiative and thinks creatively.  
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support of the Corporate Partnership department, including prospecting; relationship development; sponsor activation
  • Develop grassroots marketing/community outreach strategies, and event coordination, that positively promote the Swamp Rabbits brand
  • Develop and manage structured nonprofit programs and campaigns 
  • Plan, develop, and execute strategic promotions and theme nights in support of the ticket sales department. 
  • Prospecting to generate new nonprofit relationships; responsible for hosting client meetings and potential client presentations on a regular basis 
  • Provide prompt, thorough, and courteous responses to all inbound & outbound customer communication – phone calls, emails, mail, etc.; maintain high level of customer service to existing and new clients
  • Perform Game Day responsibilities, including management of the Community Organization of the Night program; concourse layout; and other specific theme-related activations 
  • Create and manage a schedule of team events and appearances, including but not limited to; player appearances, mascot appearances, front office/team volunteer opportunities. 
  • Adhere to a donations budget and oversee the process of donation requests / fulfillment

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
  • Highly organized, resourceful, detailed-oriented, quick learner and time management skills
  • Excellent relationship building and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn in a team environment and adhere to departmental guidelines
  • Ability to professionally communicate and interact with all levels of management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn required business systems
  • Ability to professionally handle highly sensitive and confidential information
 
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: 
  •  A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year)

 Experience:
  • 2-3 years of related work experience; preferably in the sports industry. 
  • Must be able to work game nights, weekends, and holidays, based on an events schedule.
