The Allen AMERICANS are offering an opportunity for current college level students looking to gain real world Entertainment and Sponsorship Services experience to position themselves for a career in the sports industry upon graduation.
About the Organization:
The Allen AMERICANS Professional Hockey Club is a member of the ECHL, the world’s top Double-A hockey league, and is the affiliate of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Seattle Kraken.
Founded in 2009, the club is owned by Jack D. Gulati, known internationally as the “Serial Entrepreneur.” Championship Hockey is the backbone of the franchise, with the RED having captured back-to-back ECHL Kelly Cup Championships in 2014-15 & 2013-14.
The AMERICANS are seeking qualified candidates to serve as Gameday interns. Gameday interns will be asked to work all 36 home games (or scheduled games set by supervisor) throughout the 2022-23 hockey season at The Credit Union of Texas Event Center. The 2022-23 season begins on October 29th and concludes on April 15th. Gameday interns will be exposed to a variety of elements of the operation including (but not limited to) 50/50 Raffle sales, ticketing operations, marketing/social media, gameday operations, and fan engagement.
Gameday interns will generally report to the rink between 4 pm and 5 pm on game days with evening starts, earlier for afternoon games.
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to all fans
- Professionalism, friendliness, and a strong work ethic
- Responsible and trustworthy with respect to showing up on time and when expected
- The position requires someone to work long hours at certain periods over the year which includes weekends and holidays. Must work well in a fast-paced environment.
