Job Description
Work with communications staff on the communications efforts of the Washington Kastles, primarily in the areas of social media and digital fan engagement. Also includes assisting with the drafting of team's email blasts, website content and other team communications.
Desired Experience
Candidate should have a demonstrated expertise in social media, both in content and strategy, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite and more. Tennis background would be ideal. Previous sports experience a plus, but not required.
  • Maintain the team's social networking sites, primarily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and create opportunities for fan engagement.
  • Prepare and assist with sending out email blasts and maintaining the content on the team's website.
  • Prepare research on opposing teams and players for use in all team communications.
  • Manage social media accounts, assisting with events and matches.
  • Provide regular reports on website traffic, results on email blasts.
  • Assist in coordinating media events.
  • Assist with managing team’s tennis clinics, including working with local tennis pros and kids.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of stadium on match days, including press row, team merchandise store, box office, team giveaways, VIP sections and more.
  • Assist in any other areas needed, as directed by the Communications Director and the team’s executive management.
Internship will begin in mid May and end on August 3. All internship positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Internships are unpaid, but can be done for college credit and interns are eligible for commission on all sales.
All interns must provide their own computers for use when working with the Washington Kastles.
