Job Description
Assist with managing all charity events and the volunteer program of the Washington Kastles prior to and during the season. Help with organizing and executing the annual Washington Kastles Charity Classic, as well as attending local events as a representative of the Washington Kastles to the community. Reports to the Community Relations Coordinator and Charity Classic Coordinator.
Desired Experience
Candidate should have a good background in leadership and managing events. Strong organizational skills are a must. Sports and/or tennis background a plus, but not required.
  • Assist with coordinating Kastles Kids Clinics, run by coaches and players.
  • Work with visiting charity groups at team matches for in-game events, including Kastles Kids Tunnel, on-court promotions, etc.
  • Research and attend tennis/community related events.
  • Coordinate recruiting events within the community to attract qualified volunteer candidates.
  • Work with nightly anthem singers and other on-court talent to ensure on-time arrival and all needs are met prior to all matches.
  • Assist with communicating with participating Charities and Sponsors for the Charity Classic.
  • Work with Kastles staff on with creating/managing advertising, e-blasts, contract fulfillment, ticketing, logistics, etc for the Charity Classic
  • Coordinating Charity Classic logistics including food and beverage, player uniforms, run of show, check presentations, event signage, staffing, trophies, pre-match hospitality, etc.
  • Attend local events and represent the Kastles in the community as part of the Kastles grassroots marketing efforts.
  • Assist with stadium setup and teardown on all match days.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Community Relations Coordinator, the Charity Classic Coordinator and the senior staff of the Washington Kastles.
Internship will begin in mid May and end on August 3. All internship positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Internships are unpaid, but can be done for college credit and interns are eligible for commission on all sales.
All interns must provide their own computers for use when working with the Washington Kastles.
