Administration/General Management: General Management/Profit & Loss

Paid Undergraduate internship positions assisting the USTA business unit identified below with project-driven tasks including Foundation, Events, Marketing, Social Media, Pro Circuits, and Recreational Tennis areas.  The internship runs from June 19th through August 12th. You may select up to two depts. you have an interest in doing your internship.  Proof of Covid Vaccination required.
National Campus Events
Intern will manage and support events and competition services both administratively and operationally. Assist events team contact including event planning, on site operations - preparing event for the day, assisting Tournament organizer with any facility needs and other tasks as directed by the Events Team.  Candidate should have strong customer service skills. Tennis knowledge is helpful, but not required.
Collegiate Tennis
Intern will join the USTA Collegiate Team as they prepare for the hosting of the 2023 NCAA Divisions I, II, and III Men's and Women's Championships - the first time six Championships have been hosted simultaneously in the history of the NCAA.  Intern will play an integral role in the planning and preparation for this event.  Additionally, will be a part of key projects that are helping to shape the future of College Tennis in America. Basic tennis knowledge required.
Infrastructure Services
Intern will support facilities database through the use of CRM software, assist with the selection and promotion of Outstanding Facility Award winners, compose written communications to tennis providers through emails and newsletters, analyze findings and assist municipalities with the Park Agency Tennis Assessment. Candidate should be proficient in CRM software.
Recreational Competition
This position will be working on the business side of product development.  Throughout the course of the internship, you will learn about the products in USTA Community Tennis (Leagues, Tournaments, Ratings and Rankings), how those products are managed from a digital standpoint, and help to define and implement strategy to grow those products. General tennis knowledge a plus.
Pro Circuit
Intern will work closely with members of the Pro Circuit on designated high-value projects, along with assisting with US Open planning and preparation. Basic tennis knowledge required.
Community Tennis- Schools
Intern will support Tennis 101 database through the use of Excel spreadsheets and Tableau software, assist with special events, compose written communications to tennis providers through emails and newsletters, analyze findings and assist providers with the Tennis 101 Assessment. Experience with Tableau required.
Marketing
The marketing intern will assist USTA National Campus marketing manager in the development of marketing campaigns and assets for tennis programming and onsite events. This will include management of creative, producing and distributing marketing materials/assets, and helping with onsite events.
Marketing Operations and Association Services
Assist USTA Marketing Operations and Association Services Senior Manager in managing coordination of daily marketing processes and management. Work closely with content teams, digital teams, email operations teams, and data and analytics teams as requested. In addition to operations, this role will help in management of monthly section marketing meetings and internal presentation needs.
USTA Foundation
The USTA Foundation is seeking an undergraduate intern to assist with various projects to support the mission of the Foundation, to change lives through tennis and education programs. This work would require research and analysis of the Foundation's National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network of over 260 organizations and assistance with planning of US Open Foundation activations.
Marketing, Social Media
This internship will provide a hands-on opportunity for students to build their work experience and knowledge of social media within the USTA.  The Social Media Intern will be responsible for coordinating and publishing content for the USTA and US Open Channels on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. 
Outstanding organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, basic understanding of social media and publishing, familiarity with Tik Tok trends, sounds, app functions are a plus. Adobe Suite - basic Photoshop and Premier Skills are a plus
Officiating
Intern will assist the USTA Officiating Department with two key strategic projects, including US Open preparation. Responsibilities will include research, strategic planning, communications with key stakeholders, and assisting with the delivery of these key projects.
Qualifications
Matriculated Undergraduate student entering Junior or Senior year 2022 and/or graduating no earlier than December 2022 from an accredited college or university
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management as well as employees.
Ability to work independently as well as in a group
Organized and detailed oriented
High energy level and strong work ethic
Dynamic and positive “can do” attitude’
Competency with MS Word, Google suites; social media a plus
Tennis knowledge, experience a plus but not needed
Bilingual skills also welcomed

Internship dates: June 19th through August 12th
Monday through Thursday 9am - 5pm, no work Friday
Hybrid internship with 2-3 days in the office each week. 
Candidates must have access to Wi-Fi during work hours and be able to connect to video conferencing when working from home
Housing will not be provided
