Summary:
Working within the Marketing division of the USTA, a Graduate Intern will work on a project (or projects) that will provide a significant opportunity for experiential learning and and/or research. Through this internship, the intern will have access to opportunities for professional engagement and mentoring by USTA staff in preparation for the 2020 summer tennis season including the US Open. The projects and research that the intern will be exposed to include: 
  • Research and compile weekly marketing trend analysis to identify emerging trends in sports and brand marketing landscape 
  • Partner with Marketing team on email marketing strategy including the development of creative/subject line tests & analysis, email database growth tactics, and performance reporting 
  • Conceptualize and propose relevant content ideas and strategies to implement across Pro Tennis owned assets (i.e. US Open, US Open Series, etc.) 
  • Support Marketing team on key projects for the US Open, US Open Series and USTA Team Events including: 
    • Contribute to the development and update of marketing assets on owned sites (i.e. Event Guide)  
    • Track and record all US Open marketing initiatives for post-tournament report 
  • Support Marketing team’s digital and paid social media strategy:  
    • Conduct competitor audits and provide reports on similar sporting events including Wimbledon and Roland Garros’ digital and social channels (pre-tournament & in-tournament) to help improve and optimize our marketing tactics 
    • Monitor and measure content on USTA-owned social channels and share weekly insights of key high-level takeaways, i.e. top performing posts, underperforming content, etc. to help inform US Open paid social and digital content 
  • Assist with the organization of marketing materials to promote US Open Fan Week Events 
  • Develop new and creative ways to help expand the US Open influencer program Support marketing team with administrative marketing tasks to assist with additional USTA owned assets (i.e. Western & Southern Open and team events) 
Applicants must be first year MBAs and must be pursuing a Marketing concentration. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint; must be organized and able to manage time; strong strategic thinker and self-starter; strong written and oral communication skills; strong analytics skills; tennis knowledge preferred, not required.

The internship runs between the dates of June 8th through August 14th.
The pay is $25/hour based on a 32 hours work week.
Intern will have the opportunity for exposure to senior leadership across the organization
No housing provided - intern will have to secure his/her own housing
Relatives of the USTA National Staff will not be considered.
Internship is no guarantee of full time employment
