The Genesis Invitational Tournament interns are significant resources to TGR Live and the TGR Foundation and are essential to the success of The Genesis Invitational. Tournament interns will be exposed to several facets of the tournament and event management operations in preparation for the 2020 event to be held February 10-16 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. Positions are open to undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates (sports marketing and business majors preferred, but not required.)

Applicants must:
  • Be available to work approximately 25-40 hours/week (early mornings, late nights, weekends) including the entire week of February 10-16;
  • Work efficiently under pressure and work on several projects simultaneously prioritizing time-sensitive projects;
  • Take initiative and operate proactively in project management and problem solving;
  • Be organized with attention to detail and follow through;
  • Be comfortable working both in office and on-course environments;
  • Have excellent oral and written communications skills;
  • Be proficient in MS Office;
  • Be a team player;
  • Be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA.
  • Payment: All positions are paid on a stipend.

TOURNAMENT SERVICES INTERN:
This candidate will support the Events Manager and will serve in a lead and support role on volunteer related items and golf events. This candidate must have strong interpersonal communication skills, must be extroverted, acutely organized, as well as a self-starter. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Build relationships with volunteers and volunteer chairmen
  • Assist with on-going volunteer recruitment and outreach in Southern California
  • Manage administration of the volunteer database system (including data entry, uniform
    details, assignments, and refunds)
  • Manage volunteer credentialing process
  • In conjunction with events manager, develop volunteer training collateral and processes and
    assist with training nearly 1,000 volunteers
  • Manage the volunteer uniform packing and distribution process and uniform sales
  • Assist with budget and expense tracking for specified projects
  • Organize and inventory event collateral including uniforms, merchandise, golf balls, gifts,
    awards
  • Work with Events Manager to enlist volunteers for event needs
  •  Assist Events Manager with coordination of Pro-Am and Media Day golf event execution
  • Assist with volunteer program signage placement
  • Support tournament grass roots marketing outreach in Southern California promoting ticket
    sales and volunteer recruitment.
  • Assist with daily tournament activities as assigned (e.g., Keeping office clean, taking out
    garbage, answering phones, and miscellaneous tasks)

    START/END DATE: Monday, November 4 – Friday, February 21
