PGA TOUR Canada is a series of tournaments played across Canada each summer, where tomorrow’s stars begin the path to the PGA TOUR. The top ten point leaders at the end of each season earn status on the Korn Ferry Tour for the following season. PGA TOUR Canada’s mission is to deliver a PGA TOUR experience for our members, fans, volunteers and our partners in order to develop the future stars of professional and enrich the communities we visit.

PGA TOUR Canada is currently searching for one candidate to fill the role of Operations Manager for the summer of 2023. This person will work approximately half the tournaments on the schedule, using the week prior to tournament week to set up the golf course and infrastructure. This person will supervise and work with Tournament Volunteers throughout the set-up and teardown process in order to ensure the look and feel of a PGA TOUR event. They will also be responsible for driving the TOUR trailer from event to event across the country. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager of Tournament Operations.

Work Period:  May 15, 2023 – September 15, 2023

Responsibilities:
  • Drive truck and PGA TOUR Canada trailer from event to event across the country. 
  • Ensure trucks are safely tied and equipped for season of driving across Canada.
  • Pre-season; inventory, clean, and load all tournament infrastructure and supplies.
  • Manage and oversee the set-up/tear-down of Tournament Infrastructure with tournament volunteers.
  • Supervise and lead a team of volunteers with the roping and staking of the golf
  • Maintain Tournament Infrastructure in good and clean condition.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all infrastructure items on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all signage is displayed to the proper standards of excellence, ensuring the look and feel of a PGA TOUR event. 
  • Work with the operations, scoring and caddie committees to ensure that those areas are prepared for tournament week.
  • Ensure that all on-site scoreboards are properly stocked, and manage the on-site leaderboard scoring during competition; assist with name bars for leaderboards, standards, caddie bibs on weekly basis.
  • Set-up scoring central area and assist with walking scoring training and troubleshooting throughout the tournament.
  • Coordinate driving distance volunteers on tournament days.
  • Update general statistics information weekly.
  • Assist with player relations and facilitation of special events.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College or University graduate with a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Golf Management, Business Administration or another relevant field of study.
  • Have an intimate understanding of the rules and etiquette of golf.
  • Be legally able to work and travel within Canada. 
  • Will provide training for handling and driving trucks/vehicles.
  • Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
