Graphic Designer and Animator - PGA TOUR Entertainment

We presently have an opportunity for a Graphic Designer and Animator within our PGA TOUR Entertainment team.  The Graphic Designer and Animator is Responsible for designing, creating and facilitating static and motion graphics for video production.  Work with members of the various production teams to determine the appropriate look, design and implementation of motion graphics to be used in each project or show. Implement Visual FX in commercial productions. Requires creative thinking and outstanding design skills.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Motion Media Design or Visual FX and/or related area of study
  • Minimum four years’ experience in graphic design and creation, post-production operation and project management
  • Design experience in broadcast graphics including show packages, special effects and logo design
  • Experience in Visual FX use, such as sky replacement, logo tracking and removal and scene enhancements also desired
  • Sports production background and experience with the game of golf a plus
  • Working knowledge of MAC and Windows operating systems
  • Demonstrate professional level experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D and Mocha Pro
  • Working knowledge of compression techniques for multiple format presentations 
  • Ability to technical direct special effects shoots on location and facilitate their completion
  • Proficient with tracking techniques, blue/green screen compositing and 2D/3D animation and grading
  • Must take lead design responsibilities on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, often on multiple projects 
  • Able to assess the scope of individual projects during pre-production, and then produce all necessary graphic treatment in allotted budgeted hours
  • Excellent communication and organization skills 
  • Work in supervised and unsupervised sessions as directed by daily schedule
  • Create and facilitate design and animation for integration into projects and broadcast shows
  • Manage graphic projects effectively and accurately including pre-production estimates of time needed and efficient management of time allocated to projects
  • Ongoing consultation with Directors of Production, Coordinating Producers, Senior Producers, Producers, and Associate Producers as needed concerning the creation of graphics elements for various projects
  • Maintain strong workflow communication and collaboration with project Editors when required
  • Maintain current knowledge of technical and artistic trends in the post-production industry
  • Understand FTP technology and facilitate delivery as appropriate utilizing this technology
  • Manage storage of all graphics images, animations and graphic reels and document for future search and utilization
  • Responsible for the completed documentation of all session hours on appropriate work orders for project tracking
  • Communicate all technical equipment problems immediately to Engineering through the maintenance reports and assist Engineering in locating and identifying equipment problems as needed
  • Maintain operation within guidelines of PGATE Technical Procedures Manual
  • Responsible for checking and maintaining work flow and schedule on a day-to-day basis 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned
