Internship: Internship
The Farmers Insurance Open’s internship program is an extremely hands-on experience where students will have the opportunity to play a major role in the execution of San Diego’s PGA TOUR event held at Torrey Pines from January 20 – 26, 2020. 
The internship runs from November 4, 2019 to February 22, 2020. From November to December, preferred availability is 2-3 days a week for a weekly total of 6-10 hours. Hours may increase as the Tournament approaches.
Please note this position MUST work event days, Monday, January 13 through Sunday, January 26, 2020.
All internships are unpaid. College credit is available.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist with writing press releases, website content, and sales/marketing material copy
  • Assist with the production of the official Tournament Guide, including gathering photos, content and ads from sponsors
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of all social media strategies, leading up to and throughout the Tournament
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of influencer video shoots
  • Assist with customer service questions and inquiries via email, social media and phone prior to and during the Tournament 
  • Assist with the pre- and event day planning and execution of the Tournament’s Media Days
  • Provide marketing support in the fulfillment of all partner agreements
  • Ensure Tournament website content is regularly updated
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, but can also handle independent projects
  • Must be able to multi-task and be extremely detail-oriented
  • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Ability to carry 50 pounds
