Tournament Services Intern - Volunteers

Supervisor: Tournament Services Manager
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as a general liaison between volunteer leaders and championship staff
  • Assist in the organization and execution of monthly volunteer leadership meetings 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the PGA TOUR player childcare program
  • Assist in the planning and execution of kid’s village
  • Assist in the management of the volunteer program including, but not limited to:
    • Assist in answering incoming phone calls and responding to inquiries regarding the volunteer program
    • Processing volunteer registrations and inputting information into the volunteer registration system 
    • Assist with tracking payments for volunteer uniforms
    • Assist in the recruitment, scheduling and training of volunteers 
    • Responsible for placing volunteers into committees
    • Assist with the planning and execution of the volunteer party 
    • Assist in the tracking and printing of volunteer credentials
    • Assist in the tracking and inputing of the transportation committee background checks   
    • Assist in the coordination of the volunteer training sessions
    • Assist with follow-up phone calls to volunteer leadership/committees
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of operational plans for each committee
    • Assist in the ordering and distribution of volunteer inventory, supplies and shirts
    • Assist with managing the operations of the volunteer headquarters
    • Assist with the planning and execution of the volunteer uniform distribution
    • Assist in the development of the volunteer handbook
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Founders Cup, Media Day, AM-AM’s and the championship pro-am  
  • Assist with all event logistics including staffing plan, operational needs, A/V, F&B, gifts, awards, product inventory, registration and much more 

Applicants must:
  • work efficiently under pressure and balance multiple responsibilities while being organized;
  • be willing to work weekends; 
  • be comfortable working both in office and on-course environments;
  • be proficient in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • be expected to work approximately 30 - 40 hours/week (early mornings, late nights, weekends);
  • be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation;
  • No phone calls please.

  • Proven ability to illustrate "self-start" capability
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player
