The Workday Financials Analyst will focus on delivering easier to use and more efficient financial processes. Primarily responsible for Workday Financial modules and able to leverage other systems to enable staff. Working with stakeholders, they will design, troubleshoot, and configure enhancements in Workday. They will also prioritize work to 3rd party consultants.  

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Design and deliver future-ready Workday solutions to help organizations optimize Finance functions and enhance employees’ experiences.

Contribute to the development of a Workday Financials roadmap throughout the implementation lifecycle and post-production support, enhancing the Workday journey through new features and SKU adoption.

Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.

Coordinate with the finance department and internal/external development teams to identify systems’ requirements and needs of the organization.

Support Report Writers and develop calculated fields.  Develop and contribute to the development of Job Aids and training. 

Provide documentation and workflow analysis for financial systems/process improvement recommendations.

Test and validate new Workday software releases or enhancements.

Participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of the proposed system or process changes.

Configure and test reports in the Workday system.

Support Kainos Testing remediation and Audit alerts.

Coordinate Workday support tickets and third-party Workday partners as needed.

Support Workday security configuration for Financials.

Develop business requirements for resolving issues, new enhancements, and new applications.

Analyze existing applications and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement on a continual basis.

Develop and maintain documentation and training materials.

Contact point for systems and services outsourced to a third-party developer or maintenance organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science or related field.

4+ years of experience in the field or related area,along with training that provides the required knowledge and skills.

2+ years of related Workday Financial experience in the following areas: 

  • Business process configurations

  • General Accounting 

  • Financial Reporting 

  • Two other Workday Financial modules 

Strong experience in report writing, building complex Calc Fields, and business process conditional rules

Workday Pro certification required.

Preferred experience with Workday Prism or Workday Adaptive.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Must have knowledge of and expertise with Workday Financials.  Deep understanding of accounting processes and requirements.  Familiarity with key concepts of integrating into financial systems. Knowledge of Google Workspace.
