The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and growing one of our distributed Software Engineering teams in the development of new features and improvements to our products.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to enable sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
Write technical design documents to align your team around solutions to technical problems
Collaborate with engineering leadership to recommend mentoring and training to engineers looking to improve or adopt new technical skills

This is a supervisory position responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department. Supervise a distributed team of software engineers.
Conduct regular 1:1s with engineers to provide coaching and mentorship, identifying opportunities related to career development.
Responsible for preparation and oversight of team budget and monitoring results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
7+ years of software development experience across multiple areas of technology (e.g., web applications, API services, mobile applications, and cloud infrastructure)
2+ years of team management experience leading a team of engineers through agile software development processes
Familiarity and experience with developing, enhancing, and scaling Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment systems preferred.
Direct experience with technology stack (React, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, Flutter, AWS) preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must have knowledge in technology to deliver the right product in the right way. Knowledge in leading and implementing Test Driven Development best practices. Must be knowledgeable on up to date coding and have proficient knowledge about what the team is using to assess and analyse work, hiring staff, and troubleshooting issues when they arise. Ability to analyze, propose and manage budgets, technologies and resources for projects. Ability to work closely with product departments or other team leads to set project roadmaps and priorities and shape strategies and technical directions. Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously. Proven proficiency in the use of Google Workspace
Ability to travel up to 5%
This position requires hands-on coding and code reviews 25% to 50% of the time
