About the XFL
The new XFL will reimagine football for the 21st century when it kicks off in early 2020. Delivering authentic, high-energy football for the whole family at an affordable price, the XFL will offer fast-paced games with fewer play stoppages and simpler rules. The league will launch with eight teams in markets across the country, 45-man active rosters and a 10-week regular season schedule with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. The XFL is a single entity that owns the league and all teams, employing professionals at the Stamford, CT headquarters as well as in each of the markets that the teams call home.

About the Role
The XFL is seeking a creative, ambitious and authoritative VP, Sponsorship and Sales. As a partner to the Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, based out of XFL Headquarters in Stamford, CT, this person will be responsible for valuing inventory, developing and packaging assets and selling to potential clients. The ideal candidate should be passionate about finding creative ways to sift through assets, including but not limited to ad space, signage, integration and digital banners. The ideal candidate will be able to manage day-to-day relations with external agencies on the marketing and sales side. This position reports to the Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer.

What you will do
  • Help create strategic framework for XFL's marketing partnership function. 
  • Develop and manage XFL sponsorship inventory, including tracking/updating  all inventory, adding new inventory when applicable and communicating updates to the team weekly/monthly.
  • Bring to market asset package, fill potential partner pipeline and manage sales process. 
  • Assure XFL revenue goals are met on an annual basis. 
  • Strategize and collaborate with sponsors, agencies and internal stakeholders to create fully integrated XFL themed marketing programs, keeping partner goals and XFL parameters top of mind.
  • Participate in integrated meetings to enhance asset ideation and relay information to the team.
  • Responsible for management of multiple client relationships, including corporate sponsors, multiple agencies and marketing teams.
  • Maintain day-to-day relationships between partners, internal departments and outside agencies.
  • Accountability and influence in renewals, upgrades and revenue development.
  • Additional responsibilities include selling the league's key initiatives and fan development programs.
  • Responsible for annual incremental dollar growth within sponsorship department by upselling current sponsors on XFL controlled assets.

What you will bring
  • 10-15 years working within the sports industry or with sports brands, including experience in brand strategy & positioning, integrated marketing planning & execution, sponsorship activation, negotiation, research, analytics and media.
  • A strong preference will be given to candidates with client-side experience or agency/league/team experience.
  • Strong brand marketer with understanding of partner categories, business and the sports/entertainment industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and client service mentality along with strong sales and presentation skills.
  • Capacity for creative and innovative thinking.
  • Leader and self-starter with the ability to manage time, prioritize work and manage a team of multiple sponsor service staff members.
  • Team player with strong cross-functional skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
