About the XFL
The new XFL will reimagine football for the 21st century when it kicks off in early 2020. Delivering authentic, high-energy football for the whole family at an affordable price, the XFL will offer fast-paced games with fewer play stoppages and simpler rules. The league will launch with eight teams in markets across the country, 45-man active rosters, and a 10-week regular season schedule with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. The XFL is a single entity that owns the league and all teams, employing professionals at the Stamford, CT headquarters as well as in each of the markets that the teams call home.

About the Role
The XFL is looking for a Media Operations Manager who will be responsible for for creation and implementation of media management and post-production workflows that meet the needs of XFL Production.

What you will do
  • Establish the XFL media archive including metadata schemas and taxonomies, naming conventions and all hierarchical classifications.
  • Manage and archive of all XFL video, audio and GFX assets.
  • Ingest, export, transcode and transfer media between multiple locations as needed.
  • Monitor & coordinate multiple incoming feeds simultaneously for ingest into Avid system while performing quality control.
  • Provide media management services including storage management, media restores, and edit project management.
  • Provide technical assistance for Avid editors and production staff.
  • Monitoring transfer of file-based media to various destinations.
  • Fulfilment of archive and transcode requests.
  • Distribution of content, including video elements, still images and metadata that adhere to client requirements. 
  • Establish collaborative relationships with XFL technical support personnel to ensure post-production systems are operating properly on a daily basis.
  • Support and assist XFL production in their daily responsibilities.
  • Liaising with XFL production teams, ensuring smooth transition to post-production workflows.
  • Manage, service and troubleshoot shared Avid environment and other ancillary applications.
  • Scheduling project timetables as needed.
  • Develop disaster recovery strategy.
  • Manage and track portable hard drive inventory.
  • Maintain open line of communication between XFL operations, technical support and production.

What you will bring
  • Minimum of 5 years media asset management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Impeccable multitasking ability.
  • Self-motivated with ability to operate independently.
  • Familiarity with file transfer tools; Aspera, Drop Box, FTP, et al. 
  • Detail oriented, can quickly identify and properly handle issues as they arise.
  • Team player who is willing to pitch in wherever help is needed.
  • Avid and other non-linear editing platform experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of transcoding solutions, codecs, file wrappers and framerate conversions.
  • Experience with Adobe products; After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and networking issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must be willing to regularly work nights, weekends and holidays; accessible during off hours.
  • Some travel required.
  • Proficiency in MS office and G-Suite a plus.
