About the XFL
The new XFL will reimagine football for the 21st century when it kicks off in early 2020. Delivering authentic, high-energy football for the whole family at an affordable price, the XFL will offer fast-paced games with fewer play stoppages and simpler rules. The league will launch with eight teams in markets across the country, 45-man active rosters, and a 10-week regular season schedule with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. The XFL is a single entity that owns the league and all teams, employing professionals at the Stamford, CT headquarters as well as in each of the markets that the teams call home.

About the Role
The XFL is seeking a creative, ambitious and versatile Manager, Team Business Operations. As a partner to the SVP, Team Business Operations, based out of XFL Headquarters in Stamford, CT, this person will be responsible for creating Operational Plans, researching business opportunities and facilitating the successful coordination and completion of events. The ideal candidate should be passionate about strategic planning and sport business trends. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize visual analytics and PowerPoints to collaborate with all eight team offices. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Team Business Operations. 

What you will do
  • Advise on strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment with SVP, Team Business Operations and Team Presidents.
  • Provide key analysis to inform best practices and decision-making on subjects including marketing, content, game day operations, promotions, ect. 
  • Manage communications between league and team offices.
  • Responsible for analyses of all XFL and Team Business tent-pole initiatives and events.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to the SVP, Team Business Operations, helping drive greater efficiency, productivity and impact out of the role.
  • Collaborate and communicate between League and Team executives.
  • Ability to work across departments and engage in multi-department project management e.g. content, game day operations, marketing, communications and promotions.
  • Organize and align strategic league priorities with members of the senior leadership team.
  • Conduct industry research into current market trends and present findings to all levels of an organization.
  • Strategic planning behind promotions and events for both teams and the league.
  • Assist with budget management across the leagues and all teams.
  • Drive successful completion of activities at the XFL league office on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide ad hoc support to the broader organization as needed.

What you will bring
  • Approximately 3-5 years Operations experience in sports / entertainment specific companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent critical thinking and presentation skills; proven ability to dissect problems and develop / communicate solutions clearly, concisely and completely.
  • Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service abilities with strong experience interacting with and presenting to senior executives; exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills required.
  • Solid work ethic and a team player; able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of organizational skills and an attention to detail.
