The Washington Commanders are hiring a Business Analyst who will work within the Business Intelligence team to provide insights in support of strategic initiatives and decision making across the organization. The Business Analyst will drive a strategic and analytical approach to our business and work collaboratively across departments to improve reporting and insights. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate analytical skills, business and marketing acumen, with the ability to succinctly visualize findings to drive the business forward.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis to support key strategic organizational decision making
  • Build and maintain suite of business intelligence dashboards and reports out of data warehouse
  • Identify key insights from large data sets and create visualizations displaying those key insights
  • Work with data related to ticket sales, sponsorship, marketing, surveying and more
  • Manage data warehouse (Kore DWA) and serve as expert in manipulating data across tables
  • Work closely with marketing, ticket sales and corporate partnerships on outbound marketing segmentation strategy & lead generation efforts
  • Conduct qualitative research to understand customer expectations and areas of opportunity
  • Meet with executives, department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to assess, present, and implement solutions for business reporting and/or data needs
  • Design research projects to answer specific business questions
  • Support Business Intelligence department efforts as needed with elated tasks and projects to support business needs
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years experience in a Business Analyst or similar role is highly preferred.
  • Experience in sports and/or entertainment industry is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields with record of strong academic achievement or previous experience performing research & analytics
  • Understands the importance of Data Quality & Integrity in reporting reliable and trustworthy data
  • Excellent analytical skills – must be able to independently work with large amounts of data, extract relevant information for analysis, and summarize in data visualizations
  • Demonstrated leader who is passionate about learning and solving problems as both an individual and part of a team ensuring collaboration is aligned to our core values. 
  • Proficiency with SQL or similar database querying languages
  • Proficiency with Tableau or similar data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with surveying platforms (Qualtrics a plus)
  • Experience with R or Python a plus
  • Ability to work successfully with some ambiguity, including some weekends/non-standard hours
