Lone Star Sports & Entertainment (LSSE), an affiliate of the Houston Texans, is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team to strategically manage marketing and external messaging efforts for events and initiatives produced by LSSE as well as certain Houston Texans events as directed.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Lead strategic direction around all marketing and messaging efforts across LSSE event platforms.
  • Manage and provide day to day guidance to Marketing Coordinator and Department Intern to achieve organizational goals
  • Oversee execution of all communications, advertising, digital marketing (email/website), social marketing and creative production to facilitate the LSSE sales and marketing efforts as directed
  • Develop and oversee implementation of annual LSSE event marketing efforts including planning, negotiating, buying and facilitating media to execute these efforts
  • Establish year-round messaging content strategy and manage calendar and creation of assets 
  • Develop customer and recruitment campaign journeys in conjunction with Ticketing and Analytics teams to achieve stated goals
  • Create and distribute advertising to internal and external vendors
  • Conduct market research and fan metric analysis on behalf of LSSE in conjunction with internal resources
  • Coordinate outside support agencies and oversee day-to-day communication of their efforts
  • Develop and implement college football alumni strategy for market and coordinate communications efforts with groups
  • Coordinate with the Texans, PR Communications and Creative teams on content creation and distribution for LSSE events.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with LSSE media partners, local media outlets and key marketing support vendors
  • Oversee production of email and digital content for LSSE events including Digital Game Programs, Fan Guides and social content
  • Assist in the execution of all LSSE events as directed. 
  • Assist in management of Texans Fit partnership as directed.  
  • Work with various vendors on a project-by-project basis.
  • Perform various other duties as may be assigned from time to time by General Manager and other LSSE staff including administrative and Houston Texans event support.
  • Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with LSSE and Houston Texans personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Houston Texans offices and not in a telecommuting manner.
 
Skills Required:   
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in use of photo editing software applications required.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications required.
  • Experience with Oracle Eloqua preferred. 
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to support staff required.

Travel requirements: Limited amount of local travel as required for event planning.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Sports Management preferred.
  • Experience in sports management and/or event planning environment preferred.
