The mission of the Houston Texans Draft Class program is to provide chosen future sports professionals the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the professional sports industry through exposure throughout the Houston Texans organization.  The chosen future sports professional will make meaningful contributions to Houston Texans business and/or football operations through in-depth meaningful curriculum and experiences.
 
The Houston Texans and Lone Star Sports & Entertainment are seeking an individual for the position of LSSE Marketing Intern.

Basic Function: Develop event marketing and production skills while supporting LSSE events and initiatives as well as certain Houston Texans events as directed.  

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Support communications, advertising, digital marketing (email/website), social marketing and creative production to facilitate the LSSE sales and marketing efforts as directed
  • Support social media efforts for all LSSE platform accounts as directed
  • Track social media platform performance and communicate to management on a weekly basis
  • Support LSSE database initiatives working in conjunction Texans and LSSE staff
  • Support creative process with Texans staff to distribute advertising collateral to internal and external vendors for ticketing and suite sales and marketing for LSSE events 
  • Oversee and organize LSSE storage management process and provide regular updates to LSSE staff
  • Assist all grassroots and activation efforts throughout the season to drive lead generation efforts, including game visits (which includes traveling outside the Houston metropolitan area as needed (e.g., to Stephen F. Austin College and Sam Houston State University), conventions, corporate sponsor events, Houston Texans events and other events as requested by LSSE Marketing Manager.
  • Coordinate LSSE event photo management system and distribute visuals following each event in conjunction with LSSE and Texans staff
  • Support production of print/digital fan content for LSSE events including Digital Game Programs, Fan Guides and Team Participation Guides 
  • Assist Houston Texans Events and Houston Texans Foundation personnel in production of all LSSE charity-related event elements.
  • Assist in the execution of all LSSE events. 
  • Coordinate Bowl Week event support as requested.
  • Work with various vendors on a project-by-project basis.
  • Support production of print/digital fan content for LSSE events including Digital Game Programs, Fan Guides and Team Participation Guides 
  • Perform various other duties as may be assigned from time to time by General Manager and other LSSE staff including administrative and Houston Texans event support.
  • Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with LSSE and Houston Texans personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Houston Texans offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

Skills Required: 
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in use of Internet for research purposes. 
  • Proficiency in social media and website editing software platforms.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficiency in use of photo editing software applications preferred
 
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with staff, peers, and other Club and therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

Travel requirements: Limited amount of local travel as required for event planning. Additional travel may be requested as needed. 

Educational Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Sports Management preferred.
  • Experience in sports management and/or event environment preferred.
