The Media Asset Assistant is responsible for day-to-day media workflow operations including ingest, logging, transcoding, and delivery operations for video, audio, and project-related assets.
This position requires a highly-organized and detail-oriented individual – this individual will be responsible for ensuring that asset metadata is consistent and accurate.
This individual must have an understanding of file-based video and audio production workflows and will collaborate with team members to efficiently handle content throughout the production pipeline, following established SOPs while meeting tight deadlines and ensuring standards of quality are met.
The work schedule for the Media Asset Assistant includes work during and/or after each Raiders game, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
The Media Asset Assistant’s work will be reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions
- Ingest:
- Handle recording media from broadcast and cinema-style cameras, field audio recorders, and studio control room recording devices
- Ingest content of varying types from a wide variety of sources, including stadium and studio sources and outside sources including NFL Films and radio and television broadcast networks
- Logging:
- Consistently organize and accurately tag all assets
- Enter asset metadata, including player and coach names
- Identify football plays and enter play ID metadata
- Quality Control:
- QC incoming and outgoing content to evaluate video and audio levels, color space, resolution, frame rate, timecode, closed captioning, codec, bitrate, and other technical parameters
- Delivery & Distribution:
- Export and encode content for delivery to multiple platforms (stadium, studio, broadcast affiliates, web, social platforms)
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience working with Digital / Media Asset Management Systems preferred
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro and Media Encoder required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced collaborative production environment under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with football terminology
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with digital video & audio encoding and broadcast technical standards helpful
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter; able to effectively work independently without direct supervision
- Flexible and able to reprioritize tasks on the fly
- Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
- Sitting for long periods throughout the shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25lbs
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
