The Event Operations Manager will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing Raiders events such as Training Camp, Draft Party, Raiders 5K, and Raiders Golf Classic. The ideal candidate is highly communicative with a can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment year-round.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for all events tasked by Vice President & Senior Manager, from conception to execution. Plan, manage, and execute all aspects of designated events.
- Collaborate with Event Operations teammates as well as all Raiders internal departments on projects and events to advance the mission of the Raiders organization and Event Operations Department.
- Partner closely with Raiders internal departments & key stakeholders on developing event vision, goals, and overall operational plan.
- Exercise discretion to negotiate vendor pricing; plan, compose, and manage budgets; and track expenses of each event. Analyze and prepare cost evaluations and availabilities of vendors
- Prepare detailed load-in/strike schedules and maps for vendors, serve as the onsite point of contact, and manage the load-in/strike process until complete.
- Plan and create event timelines, work schedules, job assignments, and expectations for the Raiders Ambassador staff.
- Manage staff performance during events, conduct post-event Debriefs.
- Responsible for administering communication with the Creative department via Basecamp to provide detailed requests, advising on which assets are needed in order to ensure that all deliverables are on-message, on-time, and on-budget.
- Manage the storage and upkeep of equipment at offsite storage locations, while maintaining the functionality of such equipment and vendor-provided services.
- Conduct research and evaluate catalogue information on event vendors and venues; use independent judgment to assess how to incorporate your research and evaluations.
- Serve as a representative on behalf of the Raiders during conference calls, site visits, and production meetings when needed.
- Independently responsible for managing post-event evaluations with internal stakeholders, including formulating surveys and preparing reports.
- Aid Vice President in the execution of large-scale, organizational initiatives as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in the events field required. Sports, entertainment, or hospitality experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in event management or planning required.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to convey information concisely and accurately in email, Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs to a variety of constituents, including senior executives.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and deliver effective turnkey solutions in a limited timeframe.
- Experience providing creative direction with respect to the look and feel of events.
- Familiarity with event software such as AutoCAD, Splash, SharePoint, & Basecamp preferred.
- Must be able to work extended and flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
- Sitting for long periods of time throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
