This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the finance and accounting operations of the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, and its related entities.  All roles and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to event accounting, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, revenue/expense journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, audit/tax schedules, and ad hoc projects.

  • Accounting for Hard Rock Stadium events including creating estimates, generating invoices, tracking expenses, and reporting on event profitability
  • Responsible for full scope of the accounts receivable accounting process (invoicing and payment application)
  • Send follow-ups to parties with outstanding invoices and produce monthly A/R aging report
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations while adhering to internal reporting deadlines
  • Recording various monthly journal entries including certain revenue recognition, prepaid, and accrual items
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations while noting and resolving any reconciling items
  • Assist in the compilation and preparation of support for year-end external audits and annual income tax returns
  • Willingness to work on other ad hoc projects and analyses as required

Experience / Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 1-3 years relevant experience (Staff Accountant)
  • Experience working with Microsoft ERP systems a plus
