This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the finance and accounting operations of the Miami Grand Prix. All roles and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to event accounting, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, revenue/expense journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting support, financial reporting support, department budget meetings, and ad hoc projects.

  • Accounting for the Miami Grand Prix including the generation of sponsor and intercompany invoices, month end close responsibilities, and other general accounting activities.
  • Financial reporting support including department budget reporting, cash flow reporting, revenue reporting, expense reporting, and profitability reporting.
  • Responsible for full scope of the accounts receivable accounting process (invoicing and payment application)
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations while adhering to internal reporting deadlines
  • Recording various monthly journal entries including certain revenue recognition, prepaid, and accrual items
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations while noting and resolving any reconciling items
  • Assist in the compilation and preparation of support for year-end external audits and annual income tax returns
  • Willingness to work on other ad hoc projects and analyses as required
Experience / Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Presentation experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • CPA preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years relevant experience (Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst, or Finance Manager)
  • Experience working with Microsoft ERP systems a plus
