The Miami Dolphins communications department seeks a self-starting individual with experience and a desire to excel in the communications field. Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic and have strong planning and organizational skills. Individual must demonstrate an initiative in completing all tasks at hand. Individual must be able to work effectively on an individual basis and within a team framework, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives. Candidate must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Website/content management system  experience is preferred, but not required. Previous writing samples may be requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:            

  • Work with Senior Vice President of Communications and Community Affairs and Senior Director of Football Communications in several areas, including overall football communications strategy.
  • Establish and maintain a good relationship with local and national media outlets.
  • Coordinate player interviews with local and national media.
  • Assist the Football Communications Manager in updating the team’s weekly release.
  • Assist with the weekly release and serve as the secondary writer for all press releases and selected sections of the team media guide.
  • Coordinate all media and staff credentials for home and away games.
  • Create the Production Meeting and Broadcast Guides in advance of the weekly meetings with the network television crews.
  • Oversee the formatting and distribution of statistical information to football operations staff, coaches and media.
  • Transcribe various press conferences and interviews and assist with regularly updating the media website.
  • Assist in the staff assistant selection process.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing or Public Communications degree or related degree.
  • Three or more years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be organized, proactive and self-motivated.
  • Working knowledge of InDesign.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite.
