Accounting and Finance: Risk Management/Strategic Planning

SUMMARY: 

Hard Rock Stadium’s Director of Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management supports Hard Rock Stadium, the Baptist Health Miami Dolphins Training Complex and the Baptist Health Medical Office Building and their respective properties (collectively, the “HRS Facilities”).  This position will develop and oversee HSE Risk Management Assessment, Training and Mitigation for the Facilities, the respective employees, vendors and contractors and related events.

 

Risk Management Program Development & Administration:

Responsible for assessing, establishing training and other mitigation measures, making recommendations and implementing decisions with respect to health, safety and environmental risks management issues that directly impact the strategic direction of the Company, Sets the strategic risk management vision and is charged with delivering that strategy to the Company and reducing risk across the stadium campus using exceptional leadership/communication skills, network of internal and external alliances and highly developed business skills.

 

Property & Casualty Claims Administration:

Mitigates the organization's exposure to risk by formulating, developing, and coordinating all claims-related activities, as well as assist in resolving bona fide claims at the least possible cost through various risk transfer techniques. Works with the Company’s insurance brokers and advisors to  ensure the proper and efficient handling of claims, gathering data on claims for both record keeping and loss forecasting purposes, and estimating the financial value of claims. Also is responsible for post loss reduction techniques such as salvage, subrogation and rehabilitation.

 

Workers Compensation:

Manages accountabilities in the administration of first and third party worker's compensation claims. Understands and operationalizes programs, policies, and  procedures for: reporting, investigation, and analysis; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information. Understands and communicates claims management philosophy and strategy to business units.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conducts risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to comply with OSHA and other applicable laws, rules and regulations, and identify and address risks in the organizations services and departments.
  • Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements, including with respect to use of third party resources.
  • Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.
  • Ensures third party compliance with Company practices (e.g., ensuring receipt and adequate review of certificates of insurance).
  • Reviews and analyzes metrics and data such as cash flow, inventory, breakage, and employee activity that could uncover fraudulent behavior.
  • Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and senior staff.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management, including all applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and similar programs to prepare reports and policies.
