Company Description
The San Diego Strike Force is a proud member of the Indoor Football League and the community of San Diego. The team’s mission is to unite and inspire our communities through an exciting sports entertainment experience. 

The San Diego Strike Force is playing their current 2022 season and an active member in the community  - continuously growing our leadership and reputation. We are seeking a creative and independent graphics designer to support brand messaging, visual and production needs of our content team.

Job Description 
You will be empowered to:
Gain a unique journalism and sports reporting experience showcasing your storytelling, analytic skills and creativity to enhance your portfolio and resume
  • Get an inside look at the latest events and news on San Diego and the Indoor Football League
  • Flexible work schedule fit for a young, ambitious sports professional

  • Learn from and work closely with Strike Force’s  front office executives and Managing Editor
  • Gain valuable connections, community engagement, media and journalism experience 
  • We will be happy to consider working with students who are driven to gain professional experience and looking to gain course credit

Tasks
  • Directly work with Strike Force Managing Editor to create and execute digital media and storytelling strategy  
  • Create opportunities to tell stories that support the Strike Force vision, community goals and sports  media goals
  • Must be able to adhere to internal and systemic processes such as preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief and receiving approval before advancement 
  • Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule; must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must be someone who has a flexible schedule and willing to regularly communicate via email and phone
  • Must be at all home games in the press box and watch all away games to track player and team analytics and write stories to reflect team performance
  • Make appearances at various community events and programs to support the team marketing and sales team, write stories and provide social media support
  • Flexible to serve where needed to promote the team and support fan experiences

Qualifications
  • Proficient with using Word, Pages and developing stories within the team's vision and mission. Must also have an understanding of how editorial strategy and storytelling promotes and supports the brand messaging of the team and the team vision
  • Familiarity with social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Proficient using Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs  
  • The ability to clearly communicate the reasoning behind editorial choices
  • Extremely detailed oriented and ability to work as part of a team
