Job Title: Head Athletic Trainer

Background Information
The Massachusetts Pirates are a professional football team competing in the Indoor Football League and are coming off a championship-winning season! Our team is growing and we would love to add you to it. Our Athletic Trainers are the backbone of the organization; supporting our players through the physical tolls sports can take. With a 16-game season, we need our trainers to be available and trained enough to perform all necessary functions of the position. 
This position will help manage the Athletic Training department in implementing and coordinating medical care for Massachusetts Pirates players. The ideal candidate will be committed to the safety of the players and have a strong understanding of sports-related treatments. They will be detail-oriented, professional, possess strong communication skills, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a paid position.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead department with evaluating, treating, and rehabbing players
  • Health care knowledge should include: emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing of rehabilitation programs, and being someone the team can trust
  • Assist and monitor injured players as they heal and progress
  • Communicate effectively with staff, coaches, and athletes
  • Help maintain a complete and up-to-date record of players' health
  • Responsible for remaining in compliance with league standards
  • Preserve relationships with health care partners
  • Prepare equipment and necessary treatments for practices and games
  • Keep the training room clean and organized
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Skills and Qualifications
  • All necessary certifications needed to perform  treatment and care for the players
  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited university
  • Experience with all aspects of athletic training required
  • Organized, team-player, and available to work
  • Ability to work irregular hours and weekend
  • Able to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Ability to respond to management directions and follow instructions effectively
  • Self-starter with excellent follow-through and judgment
