The Indianapolis Colts is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a full-time, season-long Digital Marketing Internship position within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The Digital Marketing Intern will assist in the coordination of the Indianapolis Colts email and digital campaigns to effectively maximize data acquisition, fan engagement, ticket sales revenue, and lead generation. 

The Digital Marketing Intern is also responsible for analyzing and reporting on email and other digital marketing initiatives to maximize campaign performance. This position reports to Director of Digital and Database Marketing, while also working closely with Business Intelligence team members and internal stakeholders. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with Indianapolis Colts digital marketing and email strategies, with an emphasis on developing more targeted and relevant interactions with fans based on consumer segmentation and analysis of the customer database 
  • Analyze Indianapolis Colts customer, ticketing, and third-party data to improve digital marketing campaign effectiveness 
  • Assist in creation of marketing campaigns with a focus in fan engagement and lead generation. Identify new lead sources and work closely with Marketing, Business Intelligence, Content and Sales Teams
  • A/B test different social media and email marketing strategies and communicate results (different subject lines/call to action, text vs. image-based emails, static vs video ads) 
  • Identify new customer segments that would enhance revenues and drive growth; includes doing analytical research and building fan profiles 
  • Assist with maintenance of the master digital marketing calendar 
  • Assist in copywriting for digital media ads, radio, broadcast, marketing campaigns, etc.  
  • Research and compile evolving trends and technology 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Digital marketing, advertising, or data analytics experience  
  • Experience with Marketing Automation software strongly encouraged (Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience preferred, however Eloqua, MailChimp, Marketo, or relevant systems work as well)
  • Experience with social media platforms and the development and execution of paid social strategies 
  • Some experience with Adobe Photoshop and other Creative Cloud products
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS recommended
  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly evolving business requirements and goals  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact easily with all levels of management, cross-functional teams and clients  
  • Strong understanding of digital landscape and marketing trends/best practices  
  • Results-driven with exceptional detail and organizational skills  
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt with changing priorities
