The Database Administrator (DBA) is a newly created position that will progress the organization by bridging the gap between its data assets and end users.  The DBA works within a team focused on driving fan-centric and data-driven decision making across the commercial operation to support organization-wide objectives.  The DBA is responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of all data resources.  This position collaborates closely with members of the Data Strategy & Analytics, Marketing, Sales, and IT departments, as well as third-party technology partners.  The DBA must be adaptable to changing user needs and continually provide end users with the resources to make actionable insights to deliver business value.  As an expert in data and related technologies, this role is responsible for the organization’s customer and business information data warehouse, including schema design, server and database administration, performance tuning and monitoring, data migration, ETL, backup, and compliance. 

The DBA is a full-time position working at our main office at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis, IN. This position reports directly to the VP of Information Technology and works within a team focusing on initiatives driven by the VP of Data Strategy and Analytics. The DBA must embody the organization’s core values in support of its mission to entertain, inspire, and unite by winning the right way. 
Vice President of Information Technology 
  • Determine the roadmap for transition to and implementation of Snowflake as a third-party data warehouse solution provider.
  • Assess integration of Finance department’s tech stack and advise on future roadmap. 

  • Lead overall data warehouse architecture. 
  • Formalize best practices and standards for the organization’s business logic and data. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and vendors in analysis and support of organizational data needs. 
  • Lead analysis, planning, and coordination for the integration of data sources and systems with the data warehouse. 
  • Data warehouse-related administration and management in Microsoft Azure including SQL Server. 
  • Data warehouse design, maintenance, performance tuning, and optimization. 
  • Design, development, and execution of data validation, migration, imports, ETL, and data flows from NFL and various third-party sources. 
  • Maintain data mappings, data quality, MDM, deduplication, and classification of all data. 
  • Ensure compliance concerning PII and proper data governance. 
  • Support of Data Strategy & Analytics team as the primary source of data for reporting, analysis, and systems integrations. 
  • Data backup and recovery. 
  • Maintain a high level of quality assurance and fully document databases and processes. 
  • Stay abreast of current technical developments related to databases and reporting technologies. 
  • Demonstrate to end users that data is our biggest asset, and we will only fully realize the return on investment if the data is presented in an actionable format. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • DBA with 5+ years of extensive SQL Server experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex data driven systems, data warehouses, CRM, and marketing technologies. 
  • Ability to analyze, design, and contribute to the integration of complex information systems. 
  • Required experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, ETL, APIs, BI/Reporting, and Cloud Technologies. Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, Ticketmaster. 
  • Preferred experience with implementation of new data warehouse solutions.
