Facility Operations/Event Staff: Facility/Venue Management
Job Summary: 
Reporting to the President of Operations, the Vice President of Operations will serve as an integral member of the operations leadership team.  This team member will be expected to help establish, maintain, and lead a culture of collaboration and innovation within a positive atmosphere.  This position is to provide support to the President of Operations by working together to create and implement facility and operation oversight of all buildings and property at Hall of Fame Village powered by Johnson Controls, and to provide a first-class guest experience. 
Primary Responsibilities: 

Financial Responsibilities:
  • Quarterly and Annual budget forecasting to include labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and utility consumption.
  • Assist in the creation of annual operations budgets. 
  • Assist in the creation of annual capital expense budgets.
  • Meeting or exceeding annual budgets & goals.
  • Responsible for assisting procurement initiatives and reviewing associated invoices for approvals.
  • Assist in creating revenue opportunities for the operations department.
Facility /Event / Security / Property Operations:
  • Oversee operations staff (and third party vendors) that are responsible for facility systems for Village including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, fire/life safety, tec operations, video production, event operations, security, and food/beverage.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the Guest Services/Experience operations for the Village property.
  • Responsible for management staff at Play-Action Plaza.
  • Responsible to oversee all ride safety maintenance.
  • Act as a liaison with City and County services for numerous facility-related functions (City Codes, Parking, Licenses, permits, police, fire, EMT).
  • Responsible for oversight of all facility work orders and KPI’s.
  • Oversite of Security operations of Village. 
  • Oversee all Federal, State and Local Safety Regulations (i.e. ADA Compliance, OSHA Standards).
  • Responsible for oversight of SOC with a collaboration with IT in the development of the NOC.
  • Maintaining and developing positive working relationships with service contractors, suppliers, utility companies and firms doing business with the Village. 
  • Coordinate, and review the work plan for changeover, facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures. 
  • Work with events team on all events throughout the Village for comprehensive execution.
  • Develop long range plans for future events and maintain departmental equipment.
  • Responsible for oversite of hiring for all Operation and Facility positions under umbrella of responsibility.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in facility operations.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of previous management experience in the above areas of expertise. 
  • Have the ability to stand, walk, and move about the campus on flat surfaces, stairways, and in construction zones with ease.  
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. 
  • Must be available to work various shifts and days to carry out the needs of facilities (including some evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Strong team skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment; must possess a strong ability for effective time management and task prioritization. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be available to live near and work in Canton, Ohio. 

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk about the HOFV campus with ease, up and down stairways, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
