The Washington Football Team’s Brand Entertainment Studio is looking for a “Director, Marketing Strategy” to join the Marketing team and lead strategy & planning around marketing programs including Fan engagement initiatives, events, and promotions. The person in this role is expected to serve as a key advocate for our Fans, ensuring that our initiatives are securely grounded in insights and geared to delight our Fans.  She/he/they will be responsible for developing and managing our integrated marketing initiative projects (e.g., NFL Draft, Training Camp, etc.) in addition to game themes (e.g., Crucial Catch, Inspire Change, Kids Day, etc.), and other events to help nurture long-term Fan relationships, reduce churn, and improve engagement, monetization and lifetime value. To bring our initiatives to life, this individual will work closely with Sales, Sponsorship, Charitable Foundation, and Operations teams to name a few, and will closely collaborate with team members from the balance of the Brand Entertainment Studio.   In addition to having an approach to business solidly grounded in insights-based strategy, the successful candidate will be a seasoned project manager, with a firm grasp on processes and tools to effectively lead large-scale, multifunctional projects to on-time/on-goal delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of leadership, develop the objectives, strategies, and launch plans for key organizational initiatives spanning the season and off-season.
  • Drive and execute marketing activations geared towards strategically growing Fan engagement year-round, with a heavy focus on delivering Fan value and Partner value via our initiatives.
  • Project Manage each initiative, developing objectives and KPIs, managing the project schedule, and ensuring cross-functional support and engagement.
  • Establish, track, and report key metrics and outcomes to drive activation success and performance improvements
  • Closely partner with our Business Intelligence team to educate internal and external partners about our Fans by exploring relevant insights, behavioral trends and opportunities.
  • Collect, synthesize and share best practices from sports, media, events, and the broad consumer marketing landscape.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing and executing large-scale consumer campaigns and events
  • Passion for Fans/consumers, with experience utilizing consumer research and data to drive actionable insights that inform marketing strategy and improve the Fan/consumer experience
  • Experience in integrated campaign leadership with an understanding of communications and media planning
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns concurrently, and working with numerous internal and external teams to ensure programs are launched seamlessly, and to the highest levels of excellence
  • Experience developing sound strategic/creative briefs and leading/working with media and creative agencies
  • Experience leading through matrixed teams and organizations to drive consensus and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and define operational success
  • Demonstrated competency in communicating and influencing effectively across all levels of management
  • People leadership experience
