Web/Creative Services: Media/Video Production
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are offering full time internships to highly motivated and committed graduates wishing to build upon their college education with practical professional experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the National Football League.
 
Participants are given the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while receiving an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes learning experience. The program is comprised of a comprehensive and flexible strategy that allows recent graduates to build upon their educational foundation in order to define, evaluate and achieve a variety of career-related objectives. 

Although each intern will be placed within a specific department, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through various outreach programs, networking events, and via our Internship Learning Series. Interns will learn from mentors and establish relationships with team executives that will benefit their lives both personally and professionally.
The position is based upon supervised work experience in one of our creative departments, including:  
  • Graphic Design 
  • Digital & Social Media 
  • Motion Graphics Design
  • Photography
  • Video Production

The Buccaneers Fall 2019 Internship Program will begin July 15th and continue through the end of the football season.  Interns are paid hourly and work 40 hours per week during their internship period.  Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship.  Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours including nights and weekends for Buccaneers’ events.
 

Internship Requirements

  • Completed four-year college degree or graduate degree
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Housing and transportation in the Tampa Bay area
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization 
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Strong professional demeanor
  •  Experience in the sports industry preferred

DEPARTMENTAL ROLE DESCRIPTIONS  

Listed below are brief descriptions for each department. Please note that certain departments may provide for additional requirements. 

Digital

  • The Digital Department is seeking a Content Management Intern to assist with both digital asset workflow and creation of HTML centric web pages.  Buccaneers content is published daily and has mix of media sources, layouts and purposes. The Content Management Intern will use the NFL CMS and gain practical experience in best practices.  Prior experience managing the digital presence of a brand is important for success in this role. 
  • A degree in Production, Photography, Digital Media or a related field is preferred. 
  • Experience in photography, Photoshop and working with digital assets of all types: images, videos, audio, graphics, text-based are required.
  • Ability to post social media content, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat
 

Graphic Design

  • The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Creative Services Department and will receive training on how to utilize type and image to execute visually communicated solutions in print/new media consistent with Buccaneers current brand strategies. Other responsibilities include designing print ads, graphics, website ads and content, invitations and other printed and electronic materials.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design is preferred. Experience with CS-6, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and knowledge of G5 Mac Pro, digital photography, and the OSX operating Systems are required.

Motion Graphics Design

  • The Digital & Media department is seeking a Motion Graphics Design Intern to produce engaging content for the team’s digital platforms. This intern will work cross-functionally to create visual effects and motion graphic assets for all Buccaneers digital platforms that: are consistent with Buccaneers current brand strategies; demonstrate creativity; are compelling and attention-grabbing; and stimulate audience growth.
  • A Strong skillset with Adobe Creative Suite, animation and/or After Effects, with an eagerness to enhance motion design skills is required for success in the internship

Photography

Responsibilities:
  • Provide photography support capturing various events across all departments (Digital Media, Community Relations, Corporate Partnerships, Guest & Member Relations and Football)
  • Assist the entire gameday photography team - may include shooting, editing and additional support
  • Assist the Team Photographer with metadata and keywords for captioning of photos in facilitating image searches
  • Assist with uploading and tagging all photos to be uploaded to the Buccaneers asset management server
  • Assist Team Photographer with studio shoots including set-up and tear down
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Photojournalism or Photography is preferred
  • Experience in sports photography and editing is preferred
  • Strong knowledge in DSLR cameras and studio lighting
  • Strong knowledge of Photo Mechanic and Adobe Premiere Suite including Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC
  • Basic knowledge of image metadata and archiving

Video Production 

  •  The Video Production Intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience while working closely with Producers within the Digital Media Department. Responsibilities include shooting, editing and uploading press conferences and open locker room media availability, involved in creating news-type pieces and features on players, coaches, cheerleaders and fans for web and in-game, acting as a production assistant for producers and logging footage from games, practices and special events.
  • Applicants must have experience operating Panasonic DVC Pro, Canon DSLR and Sony FS7 and a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Premier Pro CC, Photoshop CC and After Effects CC.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record a must
