The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are offering full time internships to highly motivated and committed graduates wishing to build upon their college education with practical professional experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the National Football League. 
Participants are given the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while receiving an unparalleled, behind-the-scenes learning experience. The program is comprised of a comprehensive and flexible strategy that allows recent graduates to build upon their educational foundation in order to refine, evaluate and achieve a variety of career-related objectives. 
Although each intern will be placed within a specific department, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through various outreach programs, networking events, and via our Internship Learning Series. Interns will learn from mentors and establish relationships with team executives that will benefit their lives both personally and professionally. 
The position is based upon supervised work experience in our creative departments, including:  
  • Graphic Design 
  • Digital & Social Media 
  • Video Production

The Buccaneers Fall 2018 Internship Program will begin July 16th and end after the 2018 home football season.  Interns are paid hourly and work 40 hours per week during their internship period.  Interns are also expected to commit to the full term of the internship.  Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours including nights and weekends for Buccaneers events. 

Internship Requirements  

• Completed four-year college degree or graduate degree  
• Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week  
• Housing and transportation in the Tampa Bay area  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)  
• Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills  
• The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.  
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects  
• Strong professional demeanor  
• Experience in the sports industry preferred

PLEASE NOTE:  This is a highly competitive internship with the most elite level of professional sports, the National Football League.  Only one person will be hired to each department.  Please be sure to represent yourself in the best possible way by submitting a cover letter, resume and providing answers to all application questions.

Listed below are brief descriptions for each department. Please note that certain departments may provide for additional requirements.

Digital & Social Media 
  • The Digital & Media Department is seeking a Digital & Social Media Intern to assist with both digital and social media asset workflow and content creation.  Buccaneers content is published daily and has mix of media sources, layouts and purposes. The Digital & Social Media Intern will be trained how to use the NFL CMS and gain practical experience in best practices.
  • Prior experience managing the digital presence of a brand is important for success in this role 
  • A degree in Production, Photography, Digital Media or a related field is preferred 
  • Experience in photography, Photoshop and working with digital assets of all types: images, videos, audio, graphics, text-based are required
  • Ability to create and post social media content, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat 
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record a must 

Graphic Design 
  • The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Creative Services Department and will receive training on how to utilize type and image to execute visually communicated solutions in print/new media consistent with Buccaneers current brand strategies. Other responsibilities include designing print ads, graphics, website ads and content, invitations and other printed and electronic materials. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design is preferred. 
  • Experience with CS-6, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and knowledge of G5 Mac Pro, digital photography, and the OSX operating Systems required

Video Production 
  • The Video Production Intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience while working closely with Producers within the Digital Media Department. Responsibilities include shooting, editing and uploading press conferences and open locker room media availability, involved in creating news-type pieces and features on players, coaches, cheerleaders and fans for web and in-game, acting as a production assistant for producers and editing logo loops for events and presentations.
  • Applicants must have experience operating Panasonic DVC Pro, Canon DSLR and Sony FS7 and a strong knowledge of Adobe Premier Suite including Premier Pro CC, Photoshop CC and After Effects CC
