As a Strategy & Analytics Manager for the Los Angeles Rams, this person will assist in business planning, project-based work and analyses, with a focus on ticketing and gameday. The role will help make data-driven decisions across the ticketing and gameday areas by providing insights from data analysis and observations from the marketplace. Potential analyses include ticket pricing, attendance projections, ticket sales velocity, season ticket member retention, season ticket member lead scoring and gameday satisfaction.  This person will assist in producing clear management dashboards to visualize data from across the business and from various sources, including ticket partner and internal CRM. Data visualizations will include ticket sales and gameday information in charts and heat maps, as well as a dashboard on key metrics across all business lines.  

The ideal candidate will have a background in business strategy, consulting and creating data models and dashboards. This person must be able to handle multiple projects at once and work across various business lines on an ad hoc basis. While the focus will be on ticketing and gameday at first, strategy projects will range across other areas of the business. The ideal candidate must be able to work well with others since many projects will involve working alongside business lines for analyses and new opportunities. 

As an organization, the Los Angeles Rams continue to grow in the LA marketplace. While the past few seasons have been an exciting time to be a member of the Los Angeles Rams, the future is even brighter. In 2019, the team will play in a renovated Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that add premium seating and should improve the gameday fan experience. Then in 2020 the team moves to its new home in the LA Stadium at Hollywood Park which represents an amazing opportunity for the team to enhance its brand. This role will play an integral part in making these next transitions successful with the ability to assess opportunities for revenue growth, greater efficiency and/or better fan experience.
 
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Aid in building business plan for ticketing and gameday groups for 2020 and beyond
  • Assist in setting ticket prices both at the beginning of the year and dynamically throughout the season
  • Build models to aid in projections of various areas including ticket sales, ticket utilization by game and season ticket member retention
  • Build person-level projections on ticket utilization, retention and new sales as well as game time entry
  • Create management dashboards to visualize data around ticket sales (primary and secondary markets) and utilization as well as gameday satisfaction, by seating area and by game
  • Report data across business lines in a clean and concise manner for Team President
  • Automate processes around ticket reporting for League and internal purposes
  • Utilize data in NFL ticketing dashboards to combine with internal findings and determine necessary new builds
  • Monitor secondary ticket marketplace to understand listings and sales by seating area as compared to primary tickets 
  • Study local market, including reviewing comparable and competing events, to understand external factors that may affect primary ticket prices
  • Provide insights and make recommendations to ticketing and gameday groups based on data findings through data visualizations and presentations
  • Work with CRM team to clean data and ensure flow of person-level data back to ticket sales and service teams.
  • Aid in general management decision making across the organization by providing insights, data visualization and analyses

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least two years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence role
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze data and summarize analysis in a digestible format required
  • Ability to pull data directly from source systems and custom database via SQL querying and software-specific query tools
  • Strong skills in software for data visualization (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, DOMO) and modeling (e.g., R) required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Statistics or Mathematics preferred
  • Experience working on projects related to ticketing and pricing a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and move projects forward
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented individual
