Social Media Coordinator

Position requires working within a team in a fast-paced environment with the purpose of managing, updating and enhancing the Los Angeles Chargers’ social media presence as well as coordinating online and interactive marketing strategies. This position reports to and works closely with the Senior Director of Digital Media.


  • Manage the day-to-day voice and online communities for the team across various social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, etc.).
  • Assist in executing and developing unique and goal-driven social media strategies for each platform.
  • Build a content calendar for each platform with shared access and schedule/publish accordingly.
  • Work to create unique and innovative concepts/programs for each platform as they relate to game day and offseason strategies
  • Develop graphics and other visual elements for social posts as needed. 
  • Create, capture and disseminate relevant player-and team-related content including but not limited to: behind-the-scenes access; special features; exclusive contests.
  • Manage, measure, research, and present social analytics.
  • Identify and analyze social media trends, including but not limited to: assisting in vetting new social media solutions; identifying new social sites; building brand presence.
  • Listen to and engage with social followers.
  • Work with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales, Public Relations and Charger Girls in a coordinated effort to execute digital and social campaigns.
  • Assist in managing social advertising sold through Corporate Partnerships and delivering upon sold agreements.
  • Building frequent social media metric reports as needed and as requested by internal stakeholders.
  • Place and manage advertising inventory across various social channels.
  • Cover games, events, and other related appearances for related social channels. 
  • Actively monitor and create content for birthdays, national holidays, social holidays, social trends, and pop culture.
  • Monitor what is being said about the team.
  • Nurture relationships with Chargers influencers.
  • Create Social “shot sheet” for game day.
  • Manage social intern.
  • Manage Live Content Correspondent on game day.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • BA or higher in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in sports marketing or digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with key social platforms listed above.
  • Familiarity with social and digital publishing, listening/monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and writing skills.
  • Proficient in time management.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Photoshop and graphics manipulation.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with great attention to detail.
  • Availability to work long, irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Possess a working knowledge of and passion for football.
