Ticket Sales and Services: Hospitality Management

The Senior Director of Group Events & Hospitality will be responsible for developing and executing a robust group sales strategy that will maximize revenue for the Los Angeles Chargers. This position will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and motivating the group sales staff to optimize sales team performance. The ideal candidate should have multiple years of first-hand group sales and ticket sales management experience. They should be comfortable analyzing performance metrics and using data and analytics to forecast and drive decision making. The Director of Group Events should be comfortable speaking in public, a creative thinker, a proven team leader, someone who can create and manage a positive and energetic sales culture, and also collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop sales strategies and campaigns to maximize the sales of group events and experience.
  • Oversee all sales team member recruiting and onboarding in partnership with Vice President of Premium Sales and Human Resources team.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and train group sales team in advance of 2020 Chargers season.
  • Create robust group sales strategy including traditional group programs, theme nights, corporate group experience offerings, and fan experience packages to surpass group sales ticket sales and revenue goals.
  • Create and implement regular sales training initiatives to increase sales team member productivity and elevate overall sales team performance.
  • Assist the sales team with their outbound cold calling efforts and new business client meetings.
  • Work to create dashboards and CRM reports to manage and track campaign performance and sales team member productivity.
  • Participate in planning meetings to discuss cross departmental revenue opportunities and collaborate with other team members to support and further the sales department goals.
  • Assist in creation and management of a budget and business plan – including sales and client retention events.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers and internal partners/stakeholders.

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in professional sports group sales and group/ticket sales management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Proven leadership experience in a sales environment including coaching, mentoring, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Resourceful, creative, and innovative, with an entrepreneurial spirit and partnership-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, pricing, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and articulate sound recommendations to senior management.
  • Organization and planning skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Experience working in Ticketmaster/Archtics and Salesforce.
