Position Overview
The Indianapolis Colts are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Mascot Intern position within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This individual will work with the Mascot Program Manager and Coordinator in scheduling appearances, helping with administrative duties of the department and serving as a back-up for appearances, as needed.  The internship is paid and will require additional evening and weekend hours as dictated by the department’s events and game day responsibilities. Internship is typically from May to May. 
 
Reports to:          Mascot Program Manager
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Learn the dynamics of the character, Blue, from the Mascot Program Manager in order to serve as a back-up performer, as needed
  • Assist with scheduling appearances and school shows
  • Track media coverage for Blue
  • Attend appearances with Blue to assist, as needed
  • Assist with the planning and creation of promotional elements for the program (i.e. Colts.com stories and updates, press releases, social media posts, etc.)
  • Manage fan mail for the department
  • Assist with Colts marketing events and programs, as needed
  • Assist Blue on game days (skits, fan interaction, t-shirt tosses, etc.)
  • Help manage Blue's email account and social media accounts

Skills/Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College mascot experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a mascot is mandatory - If you have a highlight reel, please send to blue@colts.nfl.net
  • Exceptional communication (oral & written) skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Videography and editing skills is a plus
  • Willingness to learn
  • High energy, positive attitude with a creative and outgoing personality
  • Commitment to teamwork, as well as individual responsibility
  • Detail oriented, highly motivated, organized, with an ability to multi-task, be flexible and passionate about working in sports
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours in a fast pace, ever changing environment
  • Valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive a company vehicle
