Retail/Licensing: Warehouse Operations
 The DCF Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety at our Warehouse facility in North Frisco. Their main duty is to ensure that the company is educated on, complies with, and adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines to reduce or eliminate work-related injuries.

Primary Duties:
  • Serve as advisor to the executive Environmental Health and Safety committee. 
  • Perform inspections of company facilities & personnel to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Identify hazardous workplace conditions and employee actions and notify supervisors.
  • Monitor warehouse operations to reduce or eliminate hazardous activities. 
  • Develop policies to promote Occupational Safety and Health awareness. 
  • Be knowledgeable in OSHA and other consensus standards, and how to apply them.
  • Create a safe and healthy workplace culture, through training, and spot, scheduled, and no-notice inspections.
  • Review safety processes for accuracy and relevance.
  • Participate in orientation/train new and existing employees on safety  and risk management topics
  • Investigate accidents/incidents to determine causal factors and formulate preventative measures.
  • Make recommendations to the safety manager and/or senior staff to correct deficiencies.
  • Maintain records of incidents or mishaps per OSHA requirements (7 years).
  • Collaborate with managers to monitor level of compliance.
  • Identify safety issues through Job Risk Assessments (JRA’s)
  • Immediately intervene when unsafe activities are observed.
  • Ensures personnel use appropriate personal protective equipment, when required.
  • Conduct research and compile reports for incidents and safety topics.

Additional Duties:
FORKLIFT COORDINATOR
  • Oversee forklift training and maintenance.
  • Train and certify new and/or upgrading lift drivers.
  • Maintain driver qualification records per OSHA requirements (7 years).
  • Ensure lifts are maintained in safe and fully operational condition.
  • Request maintenance for lifts and battery charging systems as needed.
