About the Position
As part of the Business Analytics team, the Systems Developer will be responsible for developing and managing the processes in which we gather data as well as the manipulations required to integrate into our data warehouse. They will be working with both cloud and on-premise solutions, a variety of connection types, and a multitude of data sources. They will report to the Manager of Business Application Development and Data Architecture and work closely with our data science team. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop optimal and automated ETL/ELT processes with API, OLE-DB, ODBC, SFTP, Excel, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain data jobs and procedures
  • Strong focus on the integrity of the data throughout all processes
  • Assist in data design & structure development and connecting to front-end development for internal data applications
  • Communicate with data science team for solid understanding of their needs as it applies to the data
  • Prepare data for consumption by our data science team or other members of Business Analytics
 
Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years working in a data environment
  • Proven experience with APIs and other data communication tools
  • Proficient in some object-oriented language(s)
  • Well versed in ETL/ELT workflow
  • In-depth knowledge of JSON/XML data formats
  • Understanding of authentication and security as it relates to data management
  • Proficient in writing, reading, and optimizing SQL queries
  • Strong understanding of relational data design, abstraction, and best practice
  • Experience with cloud computing and on-premise servers
  • Ability to collaborate on ideas as well as thrive independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to continually learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and thorough
 
Desired Skills
  • Understanding of data science and analytics
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Management Studio, Visual Studio
  • Experience with Microsoft data tools: SSIS, SSRS
  • Experience with front-end and scripting languages
  • Experience with .NET framework
  • Experience with Tableau
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position.  Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
