Summary Description
The Software Developer, as part of the Football Information Systems team, is responsible for the development and maintenance of database driven and stand-alone software applications for all football-related aspects of the organization.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the coaching, scouting, football administration, strength, medical and strategy/analytics departments through continuing development and maintenance of existing centralized player evaluation/football management system
  • Work with all football-related departments throughout the year to provide custom reports, tools and datasets for information pertaining to college and pro players, the NFL draft and free agency, as well as ad-hoc statistical requests
  • Import and merge data from disparate outside sources into a centralized MS SQL database for use by all football-related departments and automate the import/merge processes for repeatability
  • Optimize centralized MS SQL database for maximum efficiency to allow for quick retrieval/generation of large/complex datasets through advanced queries and stored procedures
  • Identifying areas for modification in existing applications and subsequently developing these modifications
  • Additional duties when and where needed
 
Education, Qualities, and Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • 2+ Years’ experience in web and software development
  • Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies
  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively and multi-task efficiently
  • SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQLITE Database Programming languages
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2014/2008 RDBMS, including writing stored procedures and functions 
  • Xamarin mobile development language 
  • MS Visual Studio version 2013 application development suite (and newer) 
  • Visual Basic.NET, C#, ASP.NET, HTML,XML, Javascript, JQuery, Objective C application development languages
  • .NET Framework v4.5 technology (and newer)
