Payroll / Accounts Payable Manager

Centerplate, the official hospitality partner proudly serving the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium is currently seeking an Accounting Manager.

The Payroll / Accounts Payable Manager is a mid-level management position which requires strong numbers orientation, problem-solving skills, research skills, computer skills and attention to detail.

 The Payroll / Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for providing accounting support to the Accounting Manager or other management personnel within the business unit.

He or she will perform basic accounting tasks such as keying daily worksheets, ensuring files are complete and maintained, handling accounts payable duties and payroll duties, and other functions to generally support the department listed below:
  • Collect, review, and submit weekly payroll data, perform manual entries and mass uploads
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and digital records
  • Ensure the completion of weekly purchasing/ receiving logs
  • Process invoices, settlements and royalties in an urgent and timely manner
  • Research vendor inquiries and provide insight on payment
  • Review personal work for accuracy, quantity, timeliness, adherence to prescribed procedures.
  • Communicate with Unit Controller, General Manager, internal departments and external agencies, as necessary.
  • Interact regularly with department managers, employees, vendors, subcontractors and restaurant partners; Serve as an information resource for the unit and provide education on accounting processes as needed.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time

  • High school diploma, some college and/or appropriate combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
  • 1 year of previous experience or exposure to accounting principles and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising appropriate skills for effective judgment, creative problem solving and taking initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to deliver and interpret information across various sources.
  • Numbers orientation, with ability to accurately compute various mathematical equations.
  • Exceptional computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite software.

  • College degree in Business, Accounting or a related field of study.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts
  • Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of the finance area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
  • Bilingual

**Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
