The Junior System Administrator role is any entry level server, storage, and Microsoft 365 support position reporting to the Enterprise System team. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations such as resolving system monitoring alerts, remediating security vulnerabilities for operating systems and applications, and serving as Tier 3 support for end user support tickets.

1-2 years in System Administration or 3-5 years in a Desktop Support or similar technology support role in a medium to large enterprise environment. Certifications strongly encouraged, particularly if the candidate has no prior System Administration experience.

Desired Certifications - One or more of the following:
  • VMware VCTA – Data Center Virtualization (vCenter 7.0)
  • Microsoft Certified:
    • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    • Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft M365:
    • Modern Desktop Associate
    • Security Administrator Associate
    • Messaging Administrator Associate
    • Teams Administrator Associate
    • Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • CompTIA: 
    • Server+
    • Network+
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor server and storage systems.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities for server operating systems and applications.
  • Participate in monthly Server Patching rotation.
  • Assist with documentation of departmental procedures and project work.
  • Maintain up to date system documentation for all responsible systems.
  • Manage on-premises Active Directory – Users, Groups, GPO.
  • Manage Azure AD groups and permissions.
  • User onboarding tasks such as Microsoft 365 license assignments and Exchange Online mailbox creation.
  • Act as Tier 3 support for end user support tickets.
  • Support AT&T Stadium Event days (Pro and College Football, Concerts, etc.) as needed.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices such as Change Management and Incident tracking
  • Experience with security principles and general infrastructure management best practices.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent customer service.
